On July 19th and 20th, the residents of Long Beach partook in the first Love Long Beach Festival at Granada Beach.
Granada Beach is near Rosie’s Dog Beach, on Ocean Boulevard. An area where locals run, walk, and bike along the beach. This weekend, in an area that residents typically stroll through, Granada Beach was the destination.
People from all over Los Angeles joined Long Beach residents as they paddle boarded, played sand soccer or beach volleyball, and enjoyed a variety of entertainment.
Several groups and dj’s provided entertainment during the festival, including DJ Easy M, Natural Hi Fi, and more. Outside of the entertainment scheduled on the main stage, street performers such as Tai were there to serenade attendees or take requests from popular music.
During the evenings when most people are instructed to leave the beach, the Festival and the attendees enjoyed fire dancing from a local group.
The pathways were crowded with vendors from leather craft workers to beauty schools showcasing their work and providing an opportunity to share their craft with fellow Long Beach residents.
Local businesses from natural food caterers were there to share as well.
Although this was the first Love Long Beach Festival, the attendees and vendors are hoping for more events in the future.
