Ellen DeGeneres, the host of the 2014 Oscars, shows off her dapper style and smooth dance moves in her Oscars commercial.
Ellen is getting ready for the Oscars with more singing and dancing than ever before. The host of the 2014 Oscars, and the self-titled talk show, shows off those classic dance moves in celebration and promotion of the Oscars. Dressed in a Tuxedo, along with 200 other dancers, Ellen shows off how dapper she truly is.
Ellen’s commercial combines both fashion and entertainment for the gender non-conforming community. Although female bodied, Ellen presents as masculine, or masculine inspired in a lot of her work. This commercial is no different.
This is the second time that Ellen will host the annual tradition, honoring the work of actors and entertainers over the past year. In 2007, the style icon hosted the Oscars and set new trends for in fashion. When discussing her fashion, Ellen says in an interview for People Magazine, “I also feel myself more of a person than a gender. When people show me clothing that seems very, very feminine, it’s hard for me to embrace that, because it just doesn’t feel like me.”
The academy acknowledges for her work.
According to Dawn Hudson, Academy CEO, “Ellen is talented, wonderfully spontaneous, and knows how to entertain a worldwide audience.” Paul Lee, president, ABC Entertainment Group, says Ellen is “the consummate entertainer, equally beloved by her peers in the industry, movie fans and television viewers.”
After being selected as the host, Ellen stated, “I am so excited to be hosting the Oscars for the second time. You know what they say – the third time’s the charm.”

What is Ellen wearing?
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ellen is dressed in a tuxedo from French fashion label Saint Laurent for the Oscars promotions.
In 2007, Ellen wore a red velvet style suit by Gucci. Let’s wait to see what she will wear during the show this year.
Because you can never forget the dove dress that she wore, showing off those, rarely scene, legs.
